Texas drank the Colt 45 this past Saturday.

In the most anticipated game in the Big 12 this year, Colt McCoy threw a pair of touchdown passes in the second half to lead Texas past Oklahoma 28-10. It was the first time the Longhorns have won back-to-back meetings with the Sooners since Texas won three straight from 1997-1999.

McCoy finished 11-for-18 for just 108 yards, but his touchdown passes to Limas Sweed and Jordan Shipley were right on the money and just what Texas needed.

"The biggest thing we learned from that (Ohio State loss) is that we hate to lose," McCoy told the Denver Post. "We had to come together as a team and say, look, we have to pull together and figure out what it takes to win."

Texas also got a big day from cornerback Aaron Ross. Ross intercepted two balls and also picked up a botched lateral for a touchdown.

Heisman Hopes Take Hit: In Oklahoma's loss, Adrian Peterson rushed the ball 25 times for 109 yards and a touchdown. Peterson had been making his living in the second half; however, Texas held the Sooner to just 38 second-half yards. The lack of yardage, Oklahoma's second loss, and a key fumble from Peterson most likely will hurt his Heisman Trophy chances.

The Real Deal: Missouri broke out of the bubble and proved it is a real contender with a 38-21 road win against Texas Tech. The defense forced four Red Raiders turnovers, which led to 28 Missouri points. The Tigers are 6-0, their best start since 1973. Missouri moved up four spots to No. 19 in the AP poll.

Big Bears: I'm giving "big-ups" to Baylor, not calling out Colorado, for the Bears' 34-31 triple-overtime win in Boulder on Saturday. It's the first time Baylor has won back-to-back Big 12 games in the same season since joining the conference. A leaping interception from Joe Pawelek sealed the deal. Colorado's 10-game losing streak dating to last year matches the Buffaloes' longest losing streak in their 117-year history.

A Look Ahead: Missouri goes to another hostile environment, Kyle Field, to take on Texas A&M, with the Tigers the early favorites at WagerWeb.com.
